Fontana To Open New Emergency Operations Center
Fontana, Calif.- Celebrate the grand opening of the new City of Fontana’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and remodeled Fontana Police Department lobby with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Fontana Police Department (17005 Upland Ave.). After the ribbon cutting, the lobby and EOC will be open for guided tours.
Speakers include City of Fontana Mayor Acquanetta Warren, Fontana Chief of Police William Green, Fontana Fire District Chief Jeff Birchfield and San Bernardino County Office of Emergency Services Director Mike Antonucci.
In the event of a city-wide disaster, the state-of-the-art Emergency Operations Center serves as the focal point for coordinating planning, response, recovery and mitigation efforts. The center includes numerous monitors, responder work areas and audio-visual connections to allow for easy dissemination of information to the public.
The remodeled Police Department lobby provides a welcoming and modern area for those in need of police assistance. The lobby now features a larger waiting section, updated furniture, monitors and areas for information.
