Larry Meyer Awarded Volunteer Of The Year By American Association of Law Libraries
San Bernardino, CA – The American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) is pleased to announce Lawrence R. (Larry) Meyer—law library director, Law Library for San Bernardino County, San Bernardino, California—as the recipient of this year’s Volunteer Service Award.
Established in 2009, the AALL Volunteer Service Award honors members who have made a significant contribution to the Association’s work. The first award was presented at the 2010
AALL Annual Meeting & Conference in Denver, Colorado.
To be nominated, recipients must have been active AALL members for at least 10 years and have contributed significantly to the Association as evidenced by volunteering or presenting at the AALL Annual Meeting; volunteering for special projects; chairing a special interest section (SIS) or SIS committee; serving as a chapter president; or representing AALL in an official capacity.
“Since 1997, Larry Meyer has served in a number of roles on several special interest sections and more than a half-dozen committees,” AALL President Ronald E. Wheeler Jr. said. “His involvement within our Association and the profession is commendable; it is my honor to
recognize his contributions with this year’s Volunteer Service Award.”
“It has been my honor to serve AALL, the profession, and the public,” Meyer said. “I am deeply touched and honored to be named this year’s Volunteer Service Award winner. My involvement with AALL and its members has been essential to my career and my volunteer efforts, and I look forward to being able to participate in additional initiatives and groups in the future.”
