National CORE Hosts 26th Anniversary Gala in Ontario
‘An Evening of Hope, A Million Dreams’ to Celebrate 26 Years of Transforming Lives and Communities
Ontario, CA – The City of Ontario is among those being honored Oct. 4 as National Community Renaissance (National CORE), one of the nation’s most respected nonprofit community builders, hosts “An Evening of Hope, A Million Dreams” – its 26th Anniversary Gala in support of the Hope through Housing Foundation.
The gala, at the Ontario Convention Center, will celebrate the people and organizations that have made National CORE and Hope through Housing’s success possible. More than 1,000 attendees are expected.
“We’re blessed to have had the opportunity to help thousands of individuals transform their lives through high-quality housing and life-changing social services. Together with our supporters, National CORE and Hope through Housing have been able to create opportunities, inspire hope and transform the neighborhoods and communities we serve,” said Steve PonTell, President and Chief Executive Officer of National CORE.
The City of Ontario will be honored with the nonprofit organizations’ Community of the Year Award. National CORE is partnering with the City to provide more than 100 units of housing as part of a major downtown-area revitalization funded through a Transformative Climate Communities grant from the California Strategic Growth Council.
Other award winners are Advanced Environmental (Corporate Partner of the Year Award) and board member Sebastiano Sterpa (Daniel A. Fauske Award). In addition, a National CORE/Hope through Housing employee will be honored with the I Am Hope Award.
Together, National CORE and Hope through Housing play a major role in several of the more notable community development projects in the country, including the Arrowhead Grove Neighborhood Revitalization effort on the site of the former Waterman Gardens public housing community in San Bernardino. The multimillion-dollar redevelopment plan calls for more than 400 housing units and is being credited with transforming one of the city’s most challenged neighborhoods.
“The alliance between National CORE and Hope through Housing and the generous support we receive from our donors and partners have allowed us to provide individuals and families in need with the opportunity to change the course of their lives. Our gala is an opportunity to recognize and thank them, and encourage others to join us in our mission of transforming lives and communities,” said Gregory Bradbard, President of the Hope through Housing Foundation.
The evening will include a cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m., gourmet dinner and live entertainment. For more information on the event, please contact Christy Schroeder at cschroeder@nationalcore.org or visit nationalcoregala.org.
