New Orleans Comes to Downtown Riverside on April 27th to Support 211 Community Connect
Riverside, CA – Mardi Crawl is coming to Downtown Riverside! This Mardi Gras-themed Pub Crawl takes place on Friday, April 27, and helps to celebrate the 52nd anniversary of 211 Community Connect and its four programs that connect Riverside County citizens to the thousands of nonprofit and government resources that can help them in their time of need.
Over 300 “Crawlers” will start at Loft.84 and be led through downtown Riverside by live Jazz music as they visit downtown “pubs.” Mardi Gras beads, discounted specialty drinks, and delicious finger foods will add to the celebration.
Participating pubs include Lake Alice, Mario’s Place, Worthington’s Tavern, Mezcal Cantina y Cocina, the Menagerie, El Patron, Mission Tobacco Lounge, W. Wolfskill, Romano’s, Sam Ban Thai, the Downtown Marriott, and Café Sevilla.
Helping 211 Community Connect celebrate its important work are five King and Queen candidates vying for top honors. These five community leaders were selected to be members of the Royal Court because of their endless community contributions and involvement. They will be working hard to earn your vote for the title of King or Queen of Mardi Crawl. Votes are $1 and sponsorships are still available.
The 2018 candidates include Shannon Carlson, Kelly Straine, Jeffrey M. Pardee, James Persinger, and Ronaldo Fierro. Current reigning King, Rich Erickson, and Queen, Wendy McCool, will relinquish their crowns the night of the event.
All proceeds of the Mardi Crawl festivities benefit 211 Community Connect. 211 Community Connect is a nonprofit organization serving over 250,000 people each year through a multitude of social services including 211 Riverside County, the HELPline (suicide hotline), Transportation Assistance Program, and the Alternative Sentencing Program.
Special thanks to SingerLewak and Pacific Premier Bank for your generous sponsorship.
