New Director Named for RivCo Animal Services
Riverside, CA – Riverside County Executive Officer George Johnson this week named Dr. Allan Drusys as Director of Riverside County Animal Services. Dr. Drusys is a veteran employee of the department, serving most recently as the Chief Veterinarian for the past 13 years.
Dr. Drusys has demonstrated unparalleled commitment to the mission of the department, county employees, as well as to Riverside County residents and animals.
“A talented team performs extraordinary work every day in the Riverside County Animal Services Department,” said Johnson. “Through the active, dedicated leadership from Dr. Drusys, the department will provide even better service to our communities.”
Riverside County Animal Services provides animal control and sheltering of stray animals at four county facilities. Animal control officers respond to tens of thousands of calls each year and investigate animal cruelty matters. The department also provides low-cost, spay-and-neuter services and vaccinations for owned pets.
“It’s a privilege to serve as the director and lead a great team of dedicated employees at Animal Services,” Dr. Drusys said. “We will continue our efforts to provide professional care for unwanted animals and improve the health of the entire community.”
