San Bernardino, Calif. – National Crime Victims’ Rights Week is a time to honor crime victims, the surviving families of homicide victims, and those who work directly to assist victims of crime. This year, National Crime Victims’ Rights Week will be observed April 8-14, 2018. This year’s theme, “Expand the Circle: Reach All Victims,” emphasizes the importance of inclusion in victim services and addresses:

• how the crime victims field can better ensure that every crime victim has access to services and support; and
• how professionals, organizations, and communities can work in tandem to reach all victims.

In honor of crime victims, this year the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office will hold a special memorial on Monday, April 9, 2018 at the San Bernardino County Government Center in the Board Chambers from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The government center is located at 385 N. Arrowhead Avenue, San Bernardino, CA 92415.

Event Details
The memorial will feature the Sinfonia Mexicana Mariachi Youth Academy, under the direction of Martin Barboza. The academy will perform tribute songs in honor of our county’s fallen victims.

During the memorial, the District Attorney’s Office will present the Award for Exemplary Service to Victims of Crime to Finding Fairways for their work with Camp Good Grief.

A bagpipe tribute will also honor our county’s fallen officers.

During the keynote speech, District Attorney Mike Ramos will make a special announcement regarding the office’s latest efforts to combat crime.
