Fontana, Calif.– The City of Fontana’s Let’s Move on the Trail event is returning to the Pacific Electric Trail with even more exciting activities for the entire family on Saturday, October 14, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. – 1 p.m. between Cypress Avenue and the Steelworkers’ Auditorium. Walk, run, bike over to participate in the award-winning event designed to help promote a healthy and safe community. The fun begins at 9:00 a.m. with a Bike and Family Walk/Run. The Let’s Move on the Trail event includes a Health, Safety and Fitness Expo with a Family Fitness Fun Zone and vendors showcasing products, information, samples and demonstrations on how to achieve healthy lifestyles. There’s even activities for your pets. Bring your furry friends to the Healthy Pet Expo located at Seville Park, 16669 Seville Avenue, for a low cost vaccine clinic, a dog bite safety booth, critters for the kids, pet food/safety vendors and a chance to win the pet costume contest. Prizes will be awarded for the best pet costumes.
The event will take place in conjunction with the John B. Roberts Fire Station #71 Open House located at 16980 Arrow Boulevard and the Fontana Police Department Expo located at Civic Center Drive and Seville Avenue. The John B. Roberts Fire Station #71 Open House will have station tours, live vehicle extrication demos, a home fire safety simulator, the Hazardous Materials Response Unit, the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Team display and a fire safety information booth. The Fontana Police Department Expo will showcase Police SWAT vehicles and other community programs.
For those interested in participating in the Bike and Family Walk/Run, both events will begin at 9:00 a.m. The Bike event will begin on the Pacific Electric Trail at North Heritage Circle and will conclude at the Steelworkers’ Auditorium. The Family Walk/Run event will begin on the Pacific Electric Trail at Cedar Avenue and will also conclude at the Steelworkers’ Auditorium.
You don’t want to miss out on this free event for the entire family. Radio stations 99.1 KGGI and Que Buena 105 will be broadcasting live from the Pacific Electric Trail and providing fun prizes.
