Riverside Sheriff Assigns Three Captains To Posts
Riverside, CA – Sheriff Stan Sniff promoted Lieutenant Lisa McConnell to the rank of Captain this afternoon, August 1, 2017, in Riverside. Captain McConnell will be assigned command of the Southwest Station, filling an existing vacancy created by the recent promotion of Chief Deputy Jeff Kubel this past month.
The Southwest Station provides police service to the unincorporated county communities of De Luz, French Valley, Murrieta Hot Springs, and Pechanga, and provides police services under contract to the city of Temecula, and Captain McConnell will serve as the Chief of Police for the city. Captain McConnell is a 26-year veteran of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Sheriff Stan Sniff has announced that Captain Jason Huskey will take command of the Palm Desert Station, overseeing the unincorporated areas of Western Coachella Valley, while also serving simultaneously as the Police Chief for the Cities of Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, and Indian Wells. Captain Huskey replaces Captain David Teets, who will take command of the Colorado River Station. The command change is effective August 3, 2017.
The Palm Desert Station is one of two Sheriff’s patrol stations within the Coachella Valley. The Palm Desert facility serves 100,000 permanent residents, has a service area of more than 325 square miles, and is staffed by nearly 200 full time and volunteer personnel. Its operating budget this past fiscal year was approximately $36 million.
Sheriff Stan Sniff has announced that Captain David Teets will take command of the Colorado River Station effective August 3, 2017, replacing Captain Matthew Jimenez, who was transferred to the Court Services Division in Indio as part of a series of routine transfers for command level personnel.
Captain Teets joined the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in 1997. As a new Deputy Sheriff, his initial assignment was to our Sheriff’s Court Services Division, and his job was to provide courtroom security at the downtown Family Law Courthouse in Riverside.
